Cuba's national theater school had the privilege of welcoming Ana de Arma at fourteen years old, whose first cinematic success came with the film A Rose from France, which she starred in alongside Álex González, at only 16 years old. Later she acted in other films such as Madrigal and the television film "The Lost Eden"
From a young age her destiny was the stage, and her dreams led her to decide to move to Spain to seek new opportunities. In Madrid, after auditioning and doing castings for a week, she was hired to play a role in the Antena 3 series, El Internado, a series in which she worked for several seasons playing Carolina and where she shared the cast with actors such as Yon González, Martiño Rivas and Elena Furiase, among others.
Alongside the series, she has made several films, acting in the movie Love Songs at Lolita's Club where actor Eduardo Noriega is the star. She is also filming "Lies and Fat" alongside the talented Hugo Silva. "I'm always searching for new and better projects that help me improve as an actress. I'm not looking for fame, I'm looking to improve day by day," she has said.
Ana de Arma is today one of the most popular and influential faces in Spain, due to the great acceptance her first Spanish series has had, which she starred in alongside other actors. This television production, El Internado, was one of the most watched, followed by millions of viewers weekly.
From childhood she had it clear that she wanted to be an actress or dancer. Life smiled upon her for the latter and at 14 years old she was chosen to enter Cuba's National Theater School. Her first cinematic success came with A Rose from France, which she starred in alongside Álex González, at only 16 years old. Later she acted in other films such as Madrigal, and the telenovela The Lost Eden.
Since she was always interested in the world of acting, she went to Madrid to do castings and within a week of arriving she already had a role in the series El Internado, in which she worked throughout the series, with the exception of the 7th and final season, playing the role of Carolina Leal, where she shared the cast with actors such as Yon González (Iván), Martín Rivas (Marcos) and Elena Furiase (Victoria), among others.
She also made her film debut acting in the movie Love Songs at Lolita's Club, alongside actor Eduardo Noriega, and in Lies and Fat, with actors like Hugo Silva, among others.
The Cuban has been featured on several magazine covers: in April 2008, she was on the cover of the men's magazine FHM; in April 2009 of Must! Magazine and in August of that same year, of the fashion magazine Vanidad, among others.
That same summer she was chosen as the image of the hair care brand Herbal Essences to promote said brand, which awarded her the title of Best Cared for and Sexy Hair of Summer 2009.
She traveled to the U.S. (the reason she left the series El Internado), to improve her English—in case future film work came up, to be prepared—and to rest and disconnect from work.[1]
In July 2010 she began filming Hispania, a new Antena 3 series in which she plays one of the protagonists, Nerea, a slave. Said series began on October 25 of that same year on Antena 3 and continues to be the ratings leader on the day it airs.
Due to the enormous popularity gained from all the work done in film and television, advertising has given her the opportunity to excel with her advertising talents. That's why there are quite a few works in this field that she has done. The latest: being the image alongside other actors of Marc Jacobs' solidarity t-shirts Protect your skin.
