Ana de Armas and William Levy among top actors in October

Cuban actors William Levy and Ana de Armas have remained at the top of the list for the month of October compiled by Sensacine, a Spanish website for information and news about cinema.

Ana de Armas, who in recent months has enjoyed worldwide success for her portrayal of Marilyn Monroe in the film Blonde, was placed in the number three position in Sensacine's selection. De Arma was surpassed only by American actor Evan Peters, star of the series Scarlet Witch and Vision; and by Spanish actress Mónica Miranda, one of the protagonists of the Netflix series, Las de la última fila.

Last September Ana de Armas was given a 14-minute standing ovation following the world premiere of Blonde at the Venice Film Festival.

Following this success, through social media Cubans have asked the actress to use her popularity to denounce the situation Cuba is going through.

For his part, William Levy placed 15th on the list of 150 actors, among them Scarlett Johansson, Leonardo DiCaprio, Hugh Jackman and Ryan Gosling.

William Levy over the past year won over Spanish audiences with the remake of the Colombian telenovela Café con aroma de mujer, released by Netflix in December 2021, where the Cuban plays Sebastián, the leading romantic role.

Levy, born in Cojímar, Havana, and based in the United States since age 15, has also starred in the telenovelas La Tempestad, Sortilegio and El triunfo del amor, among others.

For cinema he has appeared in films such as El fantasma de mi novia, Retazos de vida and En brazos de un asesino.

Last August William Levy began filming in Tenerife for the series Montecristo, where he will be the protagonist of this six-episode thriller.

The Sensacine website was created in 2008 as part of the French group AlloCiné, and its headquarters is located in Madrid.
