Ana de Arma Awarded by the Critics Choice Association's Celebration of Latino Cinema & Television

Ana de Armas was awarded by the Critics Choice Association's Celebration of Latino Cinema & Television as best actress for her leading role in the film 'Blonde'.

This is not the first award that de Armas, 34 years old, has won. At the beginning of the year, the Cuban actress won the Rising Star award at the Deauville American Film Festival's Hollywood for playing Marilyn Monroe in 'Blonde'.

De Armas, who broke down in tears during the standing ovation received at the Venice Film Festival, experienced a new achievement in her career from a distance.

Ana de Armas, who began her acting career in Cuba and made the big leap to Hollywood, thanked Netflix, Andrew Dominik—director of the film—, the film's producers, her coworkers, and even the makeup team and costume designers.

"'Blonde' is the film I always dreamed of making, and very often in my career I thought I was never going to have the opportunity to do something like this, and I'm not just talking about playing Marilyn Monroe, which was unthinkable for many," said de Armas.

"I'm talking about the opportunity, an opportunity that would really make me feel that I was freeing myself from labels, that would allow me to push myself to my limits, (would make me feel) that I was doing something innovative that would prove to me and to other Latinos that we can do anything if given the opportunity," de Armas continued.

"And that not only have I changed after the experience, but things can also change because of it," concluded the Cuban actress her message.

Ana de Armas's Next Project
Ana de Armas is in Prague, Czech Republic, filming her new project. The film is titled 'Ballerina' and is the spinoff of 'John Wick'.

The Cuban actress has increased her popularity as an actress and the importance of her roles throughout her career in Hollywood.

In 2019, Ana de Armas was part of 'Knives Out' in 2019, and then was part of the latest James Bond film starring Daniel Craig, 'No Time to Die'. Recently, de Armas also starred in 'The Gray Man' with Ryan Gosling and Chris Evans.
