A new James Bond saga is coming, and it will be Cuban actress Ana de Armas who becomes the new "Bond girl", returning to Cuba through fiction, as the film will recreate part of the Island, to get closer to Ana's origins, who continues to reap success in Hollywood.

"I wish we were really in Cuba and could share this experience with my people. I am sure they would be excited and very proud", said the Cuban actress during a meeting in London with a group of journalists, who were looking for references and details about the new saga of the mythical character. The film that will be called, "No Time to Die", the British capital served as the setting to recreate the Island.

"They managed to recreate it perfectly. Except the weather", the actress pointed out with a laugh, referring to the changing climate of the English capital, which is nothing like that of the Caribbean island. Ana said she was excited, while also "melancholic", as she acknowledged that some parts of the film reminded her of the life she had in Havana just over a decade ago.

She also recalls that as a teenager, Ana de Armas packed her life into a suitcase and left for Madrid determined to fulfill her dream of becoming a movie star, something she is achieving with great success.

Since her participation in 2017 in the science fiction film Blade Runner 2049, alongside Harrison Ford and Ryan Gosling, De Armas has been accumulating important projects that have consolidated her career in Hollywood. Now the young woman, who was nominated for Best Actress in a Comedy for Knives Out at the Golden Globes held on January 5th, will make her debut in the Bond franchise playing the character of Paloma.

"I never thought I would be a Bond girl. They are all so tall, so perfect, so glamorous, it was a level of unattainable perfection", she confessed. But the actress assured that the twenty-fifth installment shuns that "unattainable perfection" perpetuated since the beginning of the saga and instead moves toward a more "inclusive" and "real" representation of women. "This time the girls are not perfect. My character is a mess, has flaws, is real", Ana explained.

"No Time to Die" is the title of the new James Bond installment. The film, directed by Cary Joji Fukunaga (Maniac), will arrive in theaters on April 2, 2020. Actor Daniel Craig will be Agent 007 sharing roles in the film with Cuban actress Ana de Armas (Blade Runner 2049) who plays the role of Paloma and Lashana Lynch (Captain Marvel) who brings Nomi to life in the film.
