Alejandro David Falcón Rodríguez

Born in Matanzas.
1996-1999: Studied at the Music Advancement School of Matanzas in the piano profile.
2000-2003: Entered the National School of Music in the same profile (piano). During this period participates in:
Young Talents Festivals convened by said institution.
Cubadisco Gala dedicated to the National School of Art (ENA).
Integrates the Jazz Band of the National School of Art directed by maestro Basilio Márquez.

Part of the Charanga Orchestra of the school directed by maestro Pancho Terry.

Accompanist pianist in the JoJazz competition, where he obtains the 1st Mention as pianist.

Collaborated as a teacher at the Professional School of Arts of Matanzas.

2004 – 2008: Obtains admission to the Higher Institute of Art (ISA) in Havana, in the Composition profile. During this period he combines his studies with the following work:
Together with maestro Bobby Carcaséss and Jassek Manzano performs important presentations at Jazz Café, Sala Atril of the Karl Marx Theater, concerts at the Amadeo Roldán Theater.

Participates in the Jazz Plaza Festival with Jassek Manzano.

In 2005 obtains the Young Laureate Diploma, granted by ISA and participates in the Composition Workshop offered by Maestro Stefano Bracci.

In 2005 obtains the 1st Mention in the composition category in the JoJazz competition.

Participates as an accompanist pianist in different concerts organized by the National School of Art and ISA and in various graduation recitals.

In 2006 obtains the 1st Prize and Mention in the edition of the composition competition "Musicalia" convened by ISA in the categories of Chamber Music and solo instruments respectively.

Participates in the Composition Workshop offered by Maestro Stefano Bracci and Luciano Aquilini.

In 2007 obtains again the 1st Prize and a Mention in the edition of the composition competition "Musicalia", this time in the string orchestra category.

Participates in the JoJazz pianists gala dedicated to Cuban composer and pianist Ernesto Lecuona at the Amadeo Roldan Theater.

Throughout these years he also participated as a soloist and as a member of youth orchestras convened by ISA for concerts of classical or contemporary music organized by the composition chair.

Has been a student of prestigious Cuban musicians such as: Fernando (Archie) Rodríguez, Roberto Valera, Juan Piñera, Guido López-Gavilán, Teresa Núñez, Mónica O'Reilly, Harold Gramatges, José Loyola.

Was a member of the Paulo FG orchestra and his Elite, (of Cuban popular music), with which he performed on important stages in Cuba, in the album debut concert Te deseo suerte at the Karl Marx Theater and participated with said group in the International Festivals: Winter Latin Festival London 2003 with La India and El Gran Combo de Puerto Rico, Oslo World Music Norway 2003, Latinoamericando Festival (Milan 2004), Festival Bayamo 2004 Seyne Sur Mer in France, Festival de Campanelli 2004 Rome Italy.

Tour through Spain organized by the Sol Meliá chain, performing in important cities such as León, Barcelona, Madrid, Zaragoza, Málaga, Marbella, Alicante.

Tours through Mexico, the Bahamas and National Tour throughout Cuba 2004. Was pianist of the "Otra Visión" orchestra of flautist and composer Orlando Valle "Maraca", for 4 and a half years, with which he has performed on national and international stages among which can be mentioned:

Has alternated in concerts with national and international figures such as: El Gran Combo de Puerto Rico, La India, Gal Costa, Marcus Miller, Randy Brecker, Ernán López-Nussa, Buena Vista Social Club, Pablo Milanés, Raúl Paz, Giovanni Hidalgo, José Alberto (el canario), Oscar De León, Dave Valentín, Cándido Fabré, Chucho Valdés, Leo Vera, Andy Narell, Tata Güines.

Was selected as pianist and keyboardist for the recording of the albums: "Como Antes" by singer, pianist and composer Beatriz Márquez, and the album "Lo que quiero es fiesta" by flautist and composer Orlando Valle (Maraca) both nominated for the Cubadisco award in their respective years.

Was invited for the recording of the pieces presented in Percussion Book by Juan Carlos Rojas (el peje). Shamela album, Eme Alfonso, CD Todo es posible by Wil Campa and La Gran Unión, 2 pieces on Waldo Mendoza's album with guest Omara Portuondo, CD by troubadour Erick Sánchez, Marco Claveria Project CD Essencias, track Quedate. CD by Leoni Torres.

Collaborated with young composer Annalie Rodríguez on the original music for the documentary "Estampas de Fe" under the script and direction of Manuel Ortega.

Participated as pianist in the recording of the music for the documentary Retablo Costumbrista by composer Elvira Peña.

Participated as pianist in the recording of the CD by Cristina Odabadzhian Russian singer and composer.

Participated as pianist in the recording of music for Japanese animated manga by producer Mikio for Sony Music.

The group "Aire de concierto" recorded a composition of his titled Tumbao con Moña, with the record label Bis Music.

Participated as a jury member of the Jojazz Competition.
Collaborates with the Duo Gardenias as arranger directed by Annalie Rodríguez.

In 2008 he graduates from the Higher Institute of Art, where he obtains the Gold Title as a Bachelor of Music in the Composition profile.

Creates his own group, with the format of a jazz quartet, with the name "Alejandro Falcón y Cubadentro" and from this moment begins his career as a professional, in which he has done work both as a soloist and with his quartet, in which the following stand out:

Year 2009
Shares the stage with maestro Alexis Bosch in the Gardens of the Mella Theater.
Records his first Demo.
Records the program A todo jazz, a very important space in which all the work of jazz cultivated in Cuba is disseminated.
Performs at the Acapulco Movie Theater, in its venue, created to promote Cuban jazz by young performers of the moment. In which special guests always participate.
Records his first radio program with maestro Alexis Bosch on Radio Taíno.
Performs a cultural exchange concert Cuba – United States in which maestro José Miguel Crego Greco participated as a guest.
Makes presentations at the Zorra y el Cuervo jazz club.
Collaborates as pianist in the Habana de primera orchestra directed by Alexander Abreu, which brings together excellent renowned musicians in the country.
Makes presentations at the "Zorra y el cuervo" club and at the "Jardines del Mella" with his quartet.
At the closing concert of the XXIII Contemporary Music Festival of Havana, his work "Profound Roots of my Spiritual Mountain" is premiered, performed by the National Symphony Orchestra directed by maestro Roberto Valera, at the Auditórium Amadeo Roldán Theater, along with works by Valera himself, José Loyola and maestro Héctor Angulo.

Works as a teacher at the National School of Art.

Participates as a jury member of the Jojazz competition, also as an accompanist pianist.
Obtains Mention in the UNEAC Harold Gramatges composition competition.

Performs an A buena hora program on Radio Taino with his quartet at Zorra y el cuervo. Guests include Duo Gardenias, Mari Rodríguez, Gretel Barreiro, Waldo Mendoza.

They offer a concert at Casa de cultura Plaza in the class of bassist and professor Bob Sinicrope.
Works as pianist in the group of singer Waldo Mendoza.

Participates in a tour through Spain with María del Mar Bonet, The Quintet of Jorge Reyes and the Symphony Orchestra of Villa Seca.
Participates as a guest in the concert offered at the Karl Marx by Waldo Mendoza, accompanying Omara Portuondo.
Participates in a concert with "La Academia" at Casa del Alba.
Participates in a concert with the Havana Jazz Colective Project.

Has participated in more than 40 sound recordings as pianist, arranger and music producer and has shared the stage with relevant artists from Cuba and the world.

His musical catalog comprises more than 60 works with a predominance of jazz, Cuban and Latin American popular music, and concert music; and in it the presence of danzón, a popular genre revitalized in its jazzy language, is frequent.

In his career as a jazz musician he is one of the "Jojazz" musicians for having been awarded in this competition in the categories of Composition and performance and is currently a jury member of this competition.

In 2017 he offered the inaugural concert for the celebration of International Jazz Day in the presence of Herbie Hancock.

He had the opportunity to share the stage at Fábrica de Arte Cubano with Hancock and Chucho Valdés. Marcus Miller and students from the Thelonious Monk Institute played with him and his Cubadentro project.

He was scheduled for Summer in the cycle of Concerts of jazz musicians at the Gran Teatro de La Habana with Chucho Valdés, Gonzalo Rubalcaba and the López-Nussa family.
