Cuban music shone in Ulan Bator, Mongolia, as Alejandro Falcón received prolonged applause during his performance at a gala concert of the Festival of Jazz of the Giant Steppes.
"Vals para Ochún", "Caribeña", "Eleguá Echú" and "Danzando entre Puentes", were the pieces of his own composition presented at the Theater of Opera and Ballet of Mongolia, packed with an audience that overcame any imaginable barrier through rhythms typical of the distant island.
Those present also enjoyed the interpretation of the habanera 20 Años (with lyrics by Guillermina Aramburu and music by María Teresa Vera) as a duet with French singer Lou.
Another special moment of the evening came with the piece immortalized by Louis Armstrong "What a Wonderful World", in which Falcón shared the stage with other artists participating in the thirteenth edition of the Festival of Jazz of the Giant Steppes.
It has been a great experience to play for this audience and bring them closer to the richness of Cuban music, said the talented and young pianist.
For Falcón, sharing events like this in the Mongolian capital with exponents from other parts of the world is comforting and offers the opportunity to honor the culture of the greatest of the Antilles.
