Robertlandy Simón Aties

Outstanding Cuban volleyball player and world medalist. He is one of the best male volleyball players in the world. He was captain of the Cuban national team and selected on several occasions as best spiker, blocker, and attacker in different international events. He was trained under the direction and guidance of experienced Cuban coaches who made him a good athlete.

He was born in La Habana. He belonged to the national volleyball team, serving as captain and main figure of the Cuban national team, ranked fourth in the world.

From age 16 he began to practice volleyball. He made his debut in the FIVB World League in 2005 playing only one match against France, where he was chosen as the best spiker and second best blocker of that year's edition.

Selected as best blocker and best attacker in Volleyball at the 2007 Copa América, where Cuba finished in third place.

He was the leading scorer at the 2009 Copa de Campeones (tied for second overall) with 74 points, 15 behind the leader, Japanese player Kunihiro Shimizu.

He has participated in national and international events such as: 6 World Leagues, Pan American Games, world championships, 1 champions cup, Central American Games, Norceca.

In 2010 he left Cuba and no longer played for his national team. He currently plays for Copra Volley in the Italian Volleyball League.
