Livia is a Cuban actress and model who resides in Mexico. She comes from a family of artists; her father Rolando Brito is a leading actor in Cuba and her mother Gertrudis Pestana is an important ballet dancer. She gained popularity after making her acting debut in Televisa's telenovela Triunfo amor. If someone has become the queen and lady of Mexican telenovelas in recent times, it is Livia Brito.
Her family emigrated to Mexico in the year 2000. Livia was between 13-14 years old at that time. A year after settling in Mexico City, her father opened a restaurant called La Cubana, which offered traditional Cuban dishes. Livia worked as a waitress in the family restaurant, and later as a model, to help pay for her studies.
In her early days in Mexico City, she began working as an event hostess and model at age 19, in order to pay for her studies in Business Administration; a career that she had to leave because she participated in the 2009 Reina Mundial del Banano beauty pageant in Ecuador where she placed as first runner-up representing Mexico and was awarded as Miss Photogenic.
Some time later she began her studies at the Centro de Educación Artística (CEA), an institution from which she has already graduated.
Although she was not very popular at first, Livia made her television debut in the telenovela El triunfo del amor with the character of Fernanda Sandoval. The soap opera filmed in 2010 starred William Levy and Mexican Maité Perroni. Livia has said that she felt very fortunate for this role and for the opportunity to meet and gain experience from the stars. Her debut as Fernanda Sandoval Gutiérrez in Triunfo del amor was produced by Salvador Mejía.
Two years later luck changed, the beautiful young woman was already emerging as a star. In 2012 producer Angelli Nesma gave her the opportunity to continue her career as an actress in the telenovela Abismo de pasión, alongside Mexicans Angelique Boyer and David Zepeda. This supporting role as Paloma González in Abismo de pasión.
The long-awaited leading role came in 2013 with the superproduction De que te quiero, te quiero, where she was paired in the fiction with actor Juan Diego Covarrubias and made an excellent impression on critics and audiences.
Later she was the lead once more in 2014 in the new telenovela Muchacha italiana viene a casarse, a Mexican telenovela alongside José Ron. Her work there as Fiorella Bianchi earned her the ACE Award as Best Actress of the year 2016.
Livia Brito's most recent works were in 2016 when she participated in the production Por siempre Joan Sebastian, a tribute to Mexican singer, and in the novel La Piloto, playing Yolanda Cadena, an intrepid young woman. She followed with the productions La Doble Vida de Estela Carrillo and Descontrol. Her most recent work has been in the telenovela Médicos, Línea de Vída, for Televisa.
The actress has also been a host on the program Bailando por un sueño, in the 2014 edition, and a theater actress in works such as El cartero, with which she won the Award from the Association of Theater Critics and Journalists (ACPT) in the year 2012 and Los Bonobos.
