The telenovela Woman of Nobody arrives on Mexican screens on Monday, June 13, with Cuban actress Livia Brito as the protagonist.
The new production from Televisa, produced by Giselle González, is a remake of the successful melodrama To Love You Is My Sin, from 2004, so it is expected to be well received by the public.
The drama, starring Livia Brito and Marcus Ornellas, will take the place of The Last King: The Son of the People, a failed unauthorized bioseries about Vicente Fernández, which was canceled after its second season due to low ratings.
The Cuban has been anticipating the premiere of this new telenovela for months, as she is excited about playing a character somewhat different from those she was accustomed to.
A few months ago, Brito mentioned in an interview with Las Estrellas that Lucía, her new starring role, was a strong woman, but also sweet and tender, something that was not seen in her characters in The Pilot and The Heartless.
In a recent interview with People en Español magazine, Brito also highlighted how powerful it had been to represent real-life problems that women currently suffer, although she did not delve into the plot of the novel, mentioning for example sexual abuse.
"It's very intense because precisely many of the scenes I am performing, I don't want to say that I have lived them firsthand, but I have definitely seen them in real life, in so many news stories, in things that coworkers or friends have told me about and it is draining not just to do it in a performance," she explained.
In that sense, she indicated that it was necessary to visualize this type of situation, so that in real life people can distinguish them and respond to them, without them being ignored or handled incorrectly.
"It's draining and very sad to see it in real life. I had a scene where I was crying in front of a judge and I was telling him: 'They abused me, please, truly, help me, I am telling you the truth, I need justice to hear me'. It's difficult, but this telenovela teaches us how to get through that and open society's eyes a little more," Brito added.
For his part, Brazilian-born actor Marcus Ornellas will bring to life Fernando Ortega, a role that was played by Sergio Sendel almost two decades ago.
"It's fulfilling a dream because for a long time I have wanted to work with Giselle [González, producer] and it came true. I am very happy, it's a great team, it's a great story, great coworkers. I am infinitely happy and honored to share scenes with such talented people," he declared.
Woman of Nobody premiered this Monday, June 13 on Mexican television, through Canal de las Estrellas, at 9:30 pm sharp.
