Cuban actress Livia Brito has been a trending topic in recent weeks, following the start of filming for the Televisa telenovela, "La Desalmada".
She is the protagonist of the new telenovela by producer José Alberto "El Güero" Castro and much has been said about the casting choice. And it is that Brito became embroiled in a scandal during 2020 that still haunts her.
Livia was harshly criticized in Mexico after photographer Ernesto Zepeda accused her of physically assaulting him in Cancún. The alleged altercation occurred when the Cuban actress was traveling with her boyfriend.
From then on, much was said about Brito's professional future, but it appears that she is still well-liked at Televisa. According to what Infobea's website reports, the protagonist of "La Desalmada" spoke about how excited she was about this new project.
Brito said she had to take a break after being removed from the cast of two other important telenovelas. Even so, she admitted that she used that time in lockdown during quarantine to physically prepare herself to play the vengeful Fernanda Linares.
She also spoke about the importance of her exercise routines, mentioning that she also had to watch her diet to achieve the figure she has today and that she shows off on social media. At the same time, she took the opportunity to thank her followers for providing her unconditional support in recent months.
The Cuban woman also pointed out to her fans to pay attention to her social media for the upcoming launch of a business project she has in the works. Finally, she also mentioned that she was determined to help people with exercise routines and beauty and skincare recommendations.
The scandal
In mid-2020 Livia Brito set off alarms in Mexico when Ernesto Zepeda, a paparazzi, publicly denounced her and her boyfriend for assaulting him. Zepeda claimed at the time that Livia and her partner had stolen the camera he was working with.
Faced with the scandal, Livia apologized publicly and tried to give her version of events. But the Mexican public's opinion was one of outrage toward her. While some people defended her, many even went so far as to demand that the actress leave the country and return to her native Cuba.
The consequences didn't end there. Juan Osorio, who saw her as a candidate to be part of "¿Qué le pasa a mi familia?", preferred to rule her out when he learned of the problems she had.
And although she was already the protagonist of Carmen Armendáriz's project, "Te acuerdas de mí", she was also removed and subsequently replaced by Fátima Molina. Fortunately for the Cuban woman, it appears the waters have found their level.
