Jordán Alejandro Díaz Fortún

Cuban triple jumper who set world record with 17.30 meters in Nairobi.

At the World Athletics Championship, held in the capital of Kenya, in July 2017, Jordán set the best mark of all time in the triple jump for under 18 years old, stretching to 17.30 m and winning the gold medal. A decoration with which he placed Cuba in second place on the medal table.

Jordan reigned a year ago at the planetary level among cadets with a record of 17.30 meters, which is the best mark of all time for under 18, and confirmed himself as a rising star when in mid-February 2018 he marked 17.32 at Marrero itself.

In June 2018 he achieves a new national youth triple jump record of 17.41 with which Jordan Díaz left behind by one centimeter the old mark of Pedro Pérez Dueñas. Many stars passed through the specialty on the Island, and none had been able to erase the 17.40 meters with which Pérez Dueñas reigned at the Pan American Games in Cali 1971, then registered as a world record.

In 2022 Jordan receives Spanish citizenship and trains with the great Cuban master Pedroso. In June 2022 he sets Spanish triple jump record with 17.76 m.
