Yunisleidy de la Caridad García Abreu

Cuban sprinter. Gold medalist in 100 and 200 meters flat, as well as in the 4x100 relay at the V ALBA Sports Games in Venezuela, 2023. Set a new national record in 2023.

She was born in Villa Clara, the province where she resides in the municipality of Remedios. She is studying a degree in Physical Culture at the Manuel Fajardo University of Sciences of Physical Culture and Sport (UCCFD).

She represented Cuba at the XVIII Pan American Games in Lima 2019, where she finished fifth in the second semifinal of the 100 meters (11.66) and did not qualify for the final.

She was part of the team that attended the I Junior Pan American Games, which took place in Cali, Colombia from November 25 to December 5, 2021, where she placed seventh in the standings in the 200 meters flat.

She competed in the V ALBA Sports Games Venezuela 2023, where she won gold medals in 100 and 200 meters flat with times of 11.22 and 23.00 seconds respectively, as well as in the 4x100 relay alongside Keily Pérez, Yarima García and Davisleydis Velazco in the relay, with a time of 44.46 seconds.

At the 2023 Cuba Cup of Track and Field, held from May 19 to 21 at the Pan American Stadium in Havana, she won gold medals in the 100 and 200 meters flat with times of 11.24 and 23.21. At the close of the event, she also won the title alongside Keily Pérez, Enis Pérez and Yarima García in the 4x100 meters relay, with a time of 44.38 seconds, erasing the 44.44 seconds that had been standing in this type of competition since 2011.

On May 27 at the 2023 Martinique Track and Field Meet, she set a new national record in the 100 meters flat, winning with 11.08 seconds, erasing the 11.10 seconds held by Liliana Allen since July 1992, set in the Spanish city of Salamanca.
