Yousy Barbara Ruiz is always compared to the legendary Célia Cruz for her warm voice, stage presence and natural charisma that characterizes her. She debuted as part of the choir of her native city, Camaguey and thanks to her outstanding work she was called to join several renowned Cuban groups such as La Charanga 86, Maravillas De Florida, Las Chicas Del Sol, Las Chicas Del Sabor, La Orquesta Ritmo Oriental, performing on the most famous stages of nightlife in Cuba such as the Parisién and Tropicana.

In 1995 Yousy Barbara won the semifinal of the national contest "MI SALSA" on Cuban National TV, looking for the sonero, accompanied by the Orquesta Las Hermanas Nuviolas, thus acquiring a contract with HTV comercial.

In 1995 she participated in the Montreal Jazz Festival and the following year she founded in Canada the female orchestra Las Amazonas with which she reaped great successes until its dissolution 2 years later.
The Cuban with a musical soul does not rest and in 1998 she forms her new orchestra Barbara Y Son Cuba, composed of 10 Cuban musicians, making her presentations throughout all of Quebec and USA.

In 1999 Yousy Barbara wins the Latin American Song Festival held at the famous Medley of Montreal, Canada.

In 2000 Yousy Barbara is not satisfied and begins knocking on doors in the United States leading to performances in some of the best clubs of the big apple such as S.O.B.S, the Copacabana etc...sharing with great figures of the show and being the subject of the press, as journalist Ricardo Leon said, from the newspaper La Prensa: "Yousy Barbara is a woman with a lot of ache, she is great and will go far! but very far".

With more passion the Cuban continues to stand out and in 2002 she is Named the best female singer of the year at the Gala Las Estrellas Latinas of Canada, held at the great Casino of Montreal.

In 2004 she also shared the stage as a guest in Malaga Spain, with El Gran Combo De Puerto Rico.

Since then she did not stop touring and concerts until 2005 arrived, the year in which Yousy Barbara had the joy of being invited to record in NY an all-stars with the Orquesta Son Boricua, Jimy Sabater, José Mangual, Lucho Cueto and Alfredo de la Fé, Chocolate Armenteros, Manny Oquendo, Eddie Montalvo, Juan Pablo Torres, Pupi Legarreta among others.

2007 opened its doors with new vigor for the young artist, who together with reggaeton artist Qbanito achieved an international success with the song "Maria", a theme that was in fashion throughout South America. Yousy has done tours through USA, Europe and the Caribbean.

In 2010 she records her cd "Ella Llegó A La Fiesta". With which she produces great sensation.

2011 enters and Barbara is already engaged in her new record production "Demencia Total Vol 1" together with the renowned Panamanian orchestra Zafiro, an album that will make us relive the era of Fania and the legendary Célia Cruz, with a revitalized, refreshing and contagious sound, don't miss her musical universe!
