Hugo Oslé Barraquizo

Singer and artistic director. Born in Guantánamo.

He studied painting at the San Alejandro academy. From 1975 to 1993 he received singing, repertoire, and interpretation classes in various languages, genres, and styles with Russian-born opera professor Mariana de Gonitch who studied at the Imperial Conservatory of the Marinsky Theater in Saint Petersburg and sang in Paris, Vienna, and other European cities.

He received classes from Venezuelan tenor Alfredo Saudel and repertoire classes with David Reudon, Zenaida Romeu, Isolina Carrillo, Enriqueta Almanza, and José Manuel Solís.

Since 1995 he directs the Mariana de Gonitch Project where young singers receive classes in repertoire, vocal technique, and interpretation, and have won awards in competitions and events.

He is a member of UNEAC, member of the Advisory Artistic Council of the Adolfo Guzmán music center, first-level lyric singer and first-level popular music singer.
