Concert for the 50 years of artistic life of Hugo Oslé

A concert in tribute to tenor Hugo Oslé on the occasion of his 50 years of artistic life will be offered by the Office of the Historian of the City of La Habana, on the 29th, at 3:00 p.m., in Plaza de Armas, in this capital.

Ivette Jiménez, communicator for the provincial direction of culture in La Habana, told the press that the singer will be specially honored with the Concert Fidel is Cuba, which will be in charge of the Mariana de Gonitch Singing Academy, directed by Master Oslé.

For this occasion the group, of which Oslé is also a founder, will perform a very select repertoire of traditional Cuban music, which characterizes the collective of young figures that constitute a sample of Cubanness and good artistic performance.

Oslé, disciple of Russian soprano and pedagogue Mariana de Gonitch, is the recipient of different awards and has performed on national and international stages with personalities such as maestro Rodrigo Prats, singers such as Esther Borja, Rosita Fornés, Oscar de León, Merceditas Valdés, Barbarito Diez, Tito Gómez and César Portillo, as well as the reciter Luis Carbonell.

Jiménez highlighted Oslé's trajectory as a singer, who at the Gran Teatro de La Habana was applauded in memorable performances in works such as Cecilia Valdés, La leyenda del beso, La viuda alegre, alongside sublime voices of Cuban lyrical art among them Alina Sánchez, Esther Valdés, and María Luisa Clark, star of the Rodrigo Prats Lyrical Theater, in the city of Holguín.

His duet of "Cecilia Valdés" with Alina Sánchez has stirred the public and made the nineteenth-century cobblestones jump with joy, said doctor Eusebio Leal Spengler, historian of La Habana, at the conclusion of an unforgettable concert.

The Mariana de Gonitch Singing Academy was founded in 1945 by the Diva of San Petersburg, which brings together young people who perform the best of the national song heritage.
