Esther Barroso Sosa

Graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Journalism in 1990 from the University of Havana. She completed her thesis on young Cuban cinema.

She began her career as a reporter at Telecentro Islavisión, where she worked for two years alongside Julio Acanda.

She then worked as a writer-reporter for the Informative System of TVC from 1992 to 1995, a period in which she covered social issues and conducted investigative journalism.

She specialized in cultural topics from 1995 to the present. She was Director of Cultural Information for the Informative System of Cuban Television from 2000 to 2002 and Director of the Noon News from 2006 to 2011.

She has been a news presenter and cultural commentator and occasional host of the program Diálogo Abierto.

She wrote together with María del Carmen Vasallo and directed and hosted the program Cubanía.cu", 2007-2009, on Cubavisión Internacional, which still airs on that channel.

Currently she writes and directs the programs América en la Casa and CubaNoticias: Resumen Semanal, on CubaVisión Internacional. She has conducted journalistic coverage in Haiti, Mexico, France, Spain, Peru, and Russia.

Special TV program "Un concierto muy especial" about the presentation of new Cuban son troubadour talents at the Centro Pablo de la Torriente Brau, 2001.
