Poet, editor, literary translator, and graduate in English Language and Literature from Universidad de La Habana in 1964.
He obtained first prize in poetry at the Municipal Meeting of Literary Workshops of Santa Clara (1997); Batalla de Mal Tiempo award in décima (2000); the award from the XII Cuban Poetry Day in Sancti Spíritus; El Girasol Sediento Creation Grant, with the poetry collection Imago Mundi; national sonnet award "Antonio Rodríguez Castro" of Sancti Spíritus (2001); poetry award Ciudad del Che of Santa Clara (2002); literary award Fundación de la Ciudad de Santa Clara in Décima (2004); national poetry award "Manuel Navarro Luna", with Días de reparaciones (2005); first poetry prize from the national Hermanos Loynaz contest with Desertor del cielo (2007); Dador Poetry Award, with Agujero negro (2008). He appears in the anthologies: Los parques (2001), Yo he visto un cangrejo arando (2004) and El poeta eres tú (2007).

Member of the Asociación Hermanos Saíz since 1995.
Member of the Unión de Escritores y Artistas de Cuba. His work is characterized by the alternation of classical stanzas (sonnet and décima) and free verse, with very particular appropriations of classical Latin themes, used as pretexts to address current issues in an allegorical manner. In his poems, existential questioning of man is also frequent, as well as poetry creation itself, religion and the nostalgic relationship of being with the past.
Collaborations
He has collaborated in Ariel, Cauce, Juventud Rebelde, Cartacuba, Umbral, Hacerse el Cuerdo, Educación and Huella. His collaborations and poems have appeared in the magazines Huella, Caimán Barbudo and Videncia.
