Daisy Fuentes

Daisy Fuentes was born in La Habana. She left Cuba with her family when she was barely a 3-year-old baby. She lived in Madrid, Spain, for 4 years and at age 7 settled in Secaucus, New Jersey. There she graduated in 1984 from Harrison High School and began studying communication at Bergen Community College.

Shortly after and still a student, she was hired as a weather reporter for the Telemundo network and later went on to perform in the same position but with the Univisión network.

In that job she caught the attention of the MTV team, who found in Daisy, then 22 years old, all the characteristics they were looking for: talent, beauty, and fluency in English and Spanish. Her charisma made her the most popular presenter on the network for the following three years.

In 1991 Daisy married actor Timothy Adams, whom she met when they were studying together at the same high school. The relationship only lasted four years and by 1994 Daisy Fuentes was already a divorced woman.

Daisy Fuentes' luminous and beautiful face very soon became the image of Revlon, American Express, and Pantene, among other major brands. She also had the opportunity to act in the ABC soap opera 'Loving' and the comedy 'Cybill', was invited to several major television shows, and for three seasons was in charge of hosting the famous show 'America's Funniest Videos'.

In 1995, Daisy was one of the most recognized presenters worldwide. She hosted Miss Teen USA, Billboard Awards, World Music Awards, the ALMA awards, among others, and her face was on thousands of magazine covers.

In 1995 Daisy Fuentes and Luis Miguel began a romance that lasted five years.

In 2000, Daisy began dating British singer Matt Goss, two years younger than her. They lived together and were engaged since 2003, but the model and presenter ended the relationship in January 2010.

Although she did not comment on it, doubt arose as to whether Luis Miguel was the cause of her breakup, because after a decade apart, the host has been seen on several occasions going out with the Mexican artist.

Daisy has been faithfully committed since 1998 to the cause of St. Jude hospital in favor of children suffering from cancer. Since March 2004 she successfully sells an extensive line of clothing and accessories in Kohl's department stores. She was the first Latina to launch a video game for Wii with her Pilates exercises, in August 2009.
