Recipient of the Grand Prize at the International Fair CUBADISCO 1999 and Prize in the Song Category of the same competition during the years 1999 and 2000.
She completed musical studies at the conservatories "Amadeo Roldán" and "Alejandro García Caturla". She later studied at the Seminary of Popular Music directed by Odilio Urfé, and subsequently at the Ignacio Cervantes Professional Development School where she graduated in the specialty of Singing.
She pursued self-taught guitar studies and participated in courses taught by Vicente González Rubiera (Guyún) and Alejo Carpentier.
From 1963 to 1969 she was a member of the National Choir of Cuba directed by Serafín Pro.
In 1964 she gave her first solo recital accompanied at the piano by Frank Emilio
Recitals and concerts in most of the country's most important theaters and concert halls. Presentations in all the stellar spaces of national Television and Radio. She was selected to be part of the Cuban delegation to the First International Song Festival of Varadero 1967, alongside artists of the caliber of Bola de Nieve.
She represented Cuba again in the two following Varadero Festivals (1970 and 1982). Special Guest at the First Cuban Song Competition "Adolfo Guzmán" in which she has been a participant and award winner on several occasions.
She was part of the selected cast for a special presentation at the Amadeo Roldán Theater dedicated to the important painters who were part of the First May Salon in Havana. (1968).
She participated in the First Meeting of Protest Song organized by the Casa de las Américas. This prestigious institution selected her along with Silvio Rodríguez and Pablo Milanés to be part of the delegation that represented Cuba at the Days of Uruguayan Culture in Exile, an event that took place in Mexico, (1977).
She was selected to represent Cuba in the Central Gala of the XI Festival of Youth and Students alongside important figures such as Pablo Milanés, Sara González and Sergio Vitier, among others.
She has been a judge in numerous national and provincial Cuban song competitions.
She was part of the Cuban artistic delegation for the celebration of the XX Anniversary of the Revolution whose Gala took place at the Kremlin Theater in Moscow.
She was a special guest at two editions of the International Ballet Festival of Havana, directed by Prima Ballerina Assoluta Alicia Alonso, as well as at the first two editions of the International Theater Festival of Havana as an actress and singer in the production "From the Days of War" (based on Martí's campaign diary) under the direction of Master Roberto Blanco.
On several occasions she has been a member of the "Raúl Gómez García" Brigade on tour through the provinces celebrating the festivities of July 26.
She participated as a special guest of José María Vitier at the important Cervantino Festival in Mexico (1992). She was a special guest at the Cuban Gala at the MIDEM 96 World Record Event in Cannes, France, for her participation in José Vitier's CD "Habana Secreta".
She has represented Cuba in:

She has performed and received favorable reviews in Japan, Holland, Spain, Argentina (as a special guest of Silvio Rodríguez), Mexico, Dominican Republic, Brazil, Peru and Colombia.
For more than 10 years she has worked as a radio and television host. She has obtained various awards and recognition for this work.
She has been selected to be part of the cast of various shows for important dates such as October 20, January 28, February 24, May 1 and July 26, among others.
She is a member of the Evaluation Commission of the National Center for Concert Music.
She was part of the Cuban representation at the MUSIC BRIDGE, an important event promoting rapprochement between Cuba and the United States, which was attended by outstanding personalities of American culture.
Other Activities
She is the host of two programs on National Radio: "No Hacen Falta Alas" (dedicated to music in general and universal literature) and "La Esquina del Jazz" (with this form of music as the central theme).
She recorded for special summer programming on National Television, which was awarded the "Caracol Prize" granted by the National Union of Writers and Artists of Cuba (UNEAC).
Regarding her work as a creator, she expresses:
"I am not a composer by trade. I believe that those do not depend only on inspiration. That is not my case. I handle some resources, but my songs arise as an overflow. I feel an enormous desire to make a song, from a rare anguish [...]. Mood influences it, of course. Sometimes I don't even know the causes. One fine day I pick up the guitar and the song is born, all together, text and music [...]. Evidently, my genre is the song."
