Armando Bianchi

Actor and tango singer. His professional debut took place in 1939 at the Campoamor theater. Subsequently he performed on the RHC Cadena Azul radio station.
He was born in La Habana. In the early 1940s he traveled to Mexico, where he ventured into the lyric genre –dramatic tenor– with the companies of María Guerrero and Angel Garaza, with which he performed tours throughout South America.
In 1950 he returns to Cuba, where he performed in the Comedia and Alkázar theaters; later he was hired by CMQ Televisión, in which he performed alongside Rosita Fornés in Gilbert's operetta "La Casa de Susana," directed by Gonzalo Roig. He worked vaudeville in Mario Martínez Casado's Company, and with Fornés in an operetta show presented at the Cabaret Tropicana.
In 1956 he traveled to Venezuela and then again to Mexico, to perform in the Lírico and Esperanza Iris theaters. Subsequently he toured Spain, until in 1959 he returns to Cuba.
From then on he worked as a character actor in the Teatro Lírico Nacional with numerous works by distinguished authors. He undertook numerous tours throughout the Soviet Union, Hungary, Bulgaria, and Romania.
He was married for 28 years, until his death, to Rosita Fornés.
