He has worked at Habana Radio, Teatro el Público and other prestigious companies in Cuba, United States, Brazil, Italy... And in various television and film productions with large casts from several countries.

Currently resides in Bogotá, Colombia.

He was an actor in Alma de héroe (2019) a film produced by Netflix. Recently the actor is part of the cast of Café con Aroma de Mujer, a Colombian production that will star his countryman William Levy. Ruiz plays the character of Lemarcus Acosta.
