Ariana Álvarez Amador

Owner of a spontaneous smile and dimples on her cheeks that make her unique, Ariana Álvarez is one of the most charismatic actresses, presenters, and radio and television hosts that today's media in Cuba exhibits.

Ariana is a graduate of the Faculty of Social Communication at the University of La Habana and holds a degree in Scientific-Technical Information and Library Science.

At first her family opposed her becoming an actress and her father told her that she had to study a university degree, so she graduated in Information Sciences from the University of La Habana, but she never stopped working in television. For Ariana this was a rather difficult stage in her life because many of her professors did not accept that she worked in television while studying and some were very demanding with her, but she affirms that going through university has been very useful for her career.

She began as an amateur in the Olga Alonso Theater Group, where she remained for 3 years performing characters from Cuban, Spanish, French and Russian classical theater (1996-2000).

Subsequently she worked as a professional actress, venturing into almost all media and genres.

Her first important role was Jesusa in the telenovela "Destino Prohibido" which was directed by Xiomara Blanco and which had great acceptance among Cuban viewers.

"That is the character I remember with the most affection, first because it opened the doors of acting in television for me and because I had to give of myself because it was a character that barely spoke, I had to impress people with gestures and with feelings. I am grateful unto eternity to Xiomara Blanco for giving me the opportunity," she expressed.

Another of her important characters was Yamina, in the novel "La cara oculta de la Luna" and she also enjoyed it greatly because she played a rather impulsive and rebellious adolescent, something that cost her a lot to do.

Without a doubt, actress Ariana Álvarez has in her favor the organicity of her characters, the credibility that emanates from her performances and above all, the detailed observation of everything around her. She loves being alone with herself, tranquility, and defines herself as a somewhat hermitic person.

Ariana Álvarez is one of the young actresses in our country who, without having trained in art schools like ENA and ISA, has managed to excel in all the characters she plays; she represents an example of willpower, tenacity and professional excellence.
