Since Víctor Víctor Mesa was demoted to the high Class A level of the Miami Marlins, his offense has rebounded. On Saturday's Minor League action, the outfielder had another good performance at the plate to continue his great offensive stretch in August.
Mesa went 4-2 this time, with his first triple of the season, his 17th RBI, one run scored and a strikeout. It was his seventh consecutive game with at least one hit, a streak in which he is batting .400/.516/.640, with 10 hits in 25 official at-bats, including a double, a triple, a home run, five RBIs and six walks, in addition to three stolen bases in the same number of attempts.
Others who had a good Saturday were Orlando Martínez (Double-A Anaheim), who went 5-2, with a home run (15) and a pair of RBIs (47); Yolbert Sánchez (Double-A Chicago), 3-2, with his eighth home run of the year; and Lázaro Leal (high Class A Chicago), who despite failing in his first game, hit his fourth home run of the campaign in the second game.
