Last week a name resonated strongly in the Minor Leagues of the United States. Juan Carlos Negret, a Cuban who plays in Low-A Class, with the Columbia Fireflies franchise of Kansas City was named the best player of the last seven days in the east of the division.
Last Thursday, July 8, Negret made history with the team he has been defending up until now. The outfielder finished that night with three hits in five at-bats, valid for accumulating some figures that marked his career.
On that day, the young Cuban drove in seven teammates across the plate, surpassing the mark of six RBIs achieved by him and Scott Manea. Additionally, he hit a pair of home runs in what was his third game of the season with two homers.
With his performance in that challenge he reached 13 home runs and tied as the top home run hitter in a season with Brandon Brosher, Dash Winningham and Mat Winnaker.
