Cuban ballplayer Lisbán Correa makes debut with the Diablos Rojos

On Friday's game, the slugger from the capital Lisbán Correa made his professional debut in the Mexican league with the Diablos Rojos uniform, a team that defeated the Águilas de Veracruz 8-4 at Alfredo Harp park in front of more than 4,000 capital fans.

"El Billy" went 1-for-4 as the sixth batter in the lineup, played first base, and consistently hit the ball in all his at-bats.

On the opposing side, the player from Cienfuegos Yasiel Puig also made his debut and justified his fourth spot in the batting order by hitting three singles in four opportunities with one RBI and one run scored.

The Olmecas de Tabasco left the Tigres de Quintana Roo 2-1 on the field in 12 innings, a contest where the player from Santiago Ronier Mustelier as the third batter went 1-for-5 with a walk and two strikeouts, and the player from Pinar del Río Maikel Serrano struck out once as a pinch-hitter.

In Aguascalientes the Saraperos de Saltillo roughed up the Rieleros 10-2 with standout performance from their star Henry Urrutia who connected four hits in five at-bats including one double and drove in two runs. In that game the player from Havana and former industrialista Josuán Hernández went 2-for-5 with three strikeouts included playing shortstop.

Finally, the player from Pinar del Río Félix Pérez went hitless in four opportunities in the defeat of his Bravos de León against the Algodoneros de Unión Laguna 7-15.
