Renowned Cuban singer Omara Portuondo will begin her Vida USA Tour 2023 this October 14th, during which she will be touring several cities across the U.S. to close out 2023.
The Diva of Buena Vista Social Club will kick off this tour in Chicago and will subsequently perform in other states such as Wisconsin, Minnesota, and New York, among others.
Since last March, the artist has been touring the world with this tour that she announced as a farewell from the stage at 92 years of age. South America and Europe received the Cuban musical legend in recent months, who now arrives in the U.S. to meet with her audience.
'Vida' is also the title of Omara's latest album, produced by Guatemalan singer-songwriter Gaby Moreno, "who has a soft and kind personality similar to Omara's", according to a review on the Cuban singer's website.
Regarding this phonogram, they assure that it is a tribute to Omara's musical legacy and begins precisely with a beautiful duet "Bolero a la vida", a song by Moreno nominated for a Latin Grammy.
"In 'Vida' Omara sings alongside a stellar lineup of legendary singers. Anyone who has loved Cuban and Latin music over the last 50 years will recognize the beauty of these timeless songs", the artist's website adds.
This past September, "La novia del feeling" celebrated her album's nomination for the 2023 Latin Grammy Awards in the Best Traditional Tropical Album category.
In it, Omara also shares with artists such as Alexander Abreu, Andy Montañez, Susana Baca, Rubén Blades, Mexican Natalia Lafourcade, and Spanish Raphael.
Created during the COVID-19 pandemic, "'Vida' reflects Omara's thoughts and feelings during this difficult period, in addition to being a general tribute to life".
