The National Boxing Commission reported today on the expulsion of athlete Andy Cruz Gómez from Cuba's sports structure.
Information from the National Boxing Commission
The National Boxing Commission reports that as a result of exhaustive analyses initiated within the disciplinary commission of our national school, the decision has been made to expel athlete Andy Cruz Gómez from Cuba's sports structure.
The measure has been adopted due to repeated violations of discipline committed by him, including his absence from training sessions prior to the Playa Girón 2022 National Boxing Tournament and his failure to compete in that event, the most important one organized by our sport.
The process that led to said sanction also took into account his absences and late arrivals to training sessions, his absences from his teaching activities, marked by a notable decline in his academic performance, and the way he turned his back on the commitments assumed in several events organized by the Inder's leadership.
There were multiple dialogue sessions held to discuss these and other breaches of conduct, acknowledged by the athlete himself, whose behavior demonstrated deterioration during the first half of this year.
We reiterate that all evaluations were characterized by transparency and adherence to what is established in the disciplinary regulations that govern high performance in the country.
We emphasize that the decision to continue adding pages to the beautiful history of Cuban revolutionary boxing will always be incompatible with actions contrary to the essences that have distinguished us as representatives of a people who applaud dignity as the most important of all medals.
