The Complutense Literature Prize 2022 Goes to Young Cuban Poet Antonio Herrada Hidalgo

Cuban poet and narrator Antonio Herrada Hidalgo received the Complutense Literature Prize 2022 in the poetry category awarded by the Complutense University of Madrid, Spain.

Herrada Hidalgo, 30 years old, expressed his gratitude on social media and stated that the award is "a welcome to the city, a gift for turning 30 and a confirmation to continue."

Said prize, which university students or graduates from any Spanish or foreign university between 18 and 35 years old may apply for, was awarded to Herrada in the Poetry category for his book Líneas de exportación.

The Complutense University of Madrid convenes this award in its two modalities of Narrative and Poetry with the purpose of stimulating and recognizing literary creation among university students.

In each of these two categories, the winners will be awarded a grant of three thousand euros and a commitment to publish the work by Ediciones Complutense, as well as its promotion and publicity.

Antonio Herrada Hidalgo, born in the Cuban province of Holguín, holds a degree in Geography from the University of Havana and currently resides in Madrid. Some of his works have been published in magazines and anthologies from Cuba, Canada, Mexico, Spain, Italy, and the United States.
