Outstanding performance by Cuban polo player in Austrian Bundesliga

Cuban Raydel Martínez displays 15 goals today as a member of the Lodron Salzburg Wasserball club belonging to the top competition in the Austrian Bundesliga.

At 31 years old, Martínez shows in seven matches 14 goals in shooting actions, with one penalty and four blocks to maintain his contribution to the performance of the current runner-up.

In his second season in Austria, the Antillean forward has already improved upon the 13 goals from last year when he reinforced Salzburg in the Bundesliga postseason and the Cup.

Under the 'bubble' format, the current edition of the domestic tournament is taking place due to the impact of Covid-19 and the representation of Salzburg where the Cuban plays appears in fourth place with three wins and four losses.

Last weekend, the Caribbean international added three goals in Salzburg's 19-4 victory over WBC Innsbruck, last in the standings without wins in five matches.

The next match for Lodron Salzburg Wasserball and Martínez will be on Sunday, May 9 against WBV Graz, second on the list with four wins and two losses.

In the current edition of the Bundesliga, only five teams participate and ASV Viena displays its favoritism in seeking to reclaim the title, backed by first place thanks to four wins and only one loss.
