Cuban Hirisley Jiménez Crowned Miss Grand España 2022

Cuban-born Spanish national Hirisley Jiménez was recently crowned Miss Grand España 2022, a national beauty pageant in which she represented the Canary Islands, where she has resided for the past 10 years.

Jiménez is 20 years old and was born in Cabaiguán, in the province of Sancti Spíritus, and a few months ago she won the local pageant, becoming Miss Las Palmas.

During the international event, the Cuban made significant advances in each of the elimination rounds to prevail in the final round against the representatives from Euskadi, Zaragoza, Madrid, and Granada, first, second, third, and fourth finalists respectively.

Miss Grand International is an event created by Thai businessman and television presenter Nawat Itsaragrisil, which aims to use female beauty to stop war and violence, promoting peace in the world.

The Miss Grand España 2022 gala was held in Maspalomas (Gran Canaria) to find the Spanish representative who will participate in the international pageant.

In this edition, the jury was made up of Drag Vulcano, dragqueen 2022 of the Las Palmas de Gran Canaria carnival; dentist Janet González Carballo; Blas García, official surgeon of Miss Grand España; Tien Nguyen, Miss Grand International 2021; Teresa Chaivisut, vice president of Miss Grand International; and Vicente Jiménez, president of Miss Grand España.

After being awarded, Hirisley Jiménez, who works professionally as a preschool educator, thanked all those people who accompanied and supported her during the pageant. She expressed this on her Instagram profile:

"Many thanks to the people who supported me throughout the journey, to my family, to whom I owe everything. Thanks to my friends, I don't know what I would do without them; to my fellow competitors, with whom I formed a beautiful family. Enormously grateful to my Canary Islands delegation for being nothing but the best, for being a family and always being there for us, for pampering us and supporting us in everything. This dream would not have been possible without all of you."

The Miss Grand España winner will hold her reign for one year, and for now it is known that she will travel in October to Bali, Indonesia, to participate in Miss Grand International 2022.
