Christian Rangel Attempts to Break a New Guinness Record

February 14, 2022

Young Christian Rangel is attempting to break a new Guinness Record by moving a car weighing 1100 KG using only his shoulder blades through a rope with which he pulls the car. Rangel is recognized as a scapula athlete and to match the weight of the record he adds 100 KG of ballast.

The young man, a resident of Sancti Spiritus, overcame the inertia of the vehicle which was displaced by 15 meters more than the 5 required. In January, the young record holder presented his credentials in the category of the greatest number of cans crushed by the scapulas in one minute: 82 beer cans.

Now, at 22 years old, he dragged a vehicle that, in addition to the weight already mentioned, was 25 meters long. Rangel is awaiting confirmation from the awards commission for the third time, as his request had been rejected twice before for technical reasons.

For the young man, his greatest dream is for these records to be known outside the island and to be able to participate in competitions like Got Talent, as he confessed in statements to the Reuters agency.

The people surrounding Rangel are convinced of his talent and discipline to achieve the challenges he sets for himself. "Going for a Guinness Record was born in me and everything is going well," he confessed to the news agency.

From his Facebook profile, Christian Rangel thanked all the people who have always been there for him and reconfirmed that many more records await him to break.

In Cuba there are several athletes who have obtained the prestigious recognition of Guinness Records, among these Javier Sotomayor stands out, who still today holds the high jump record with a distance of 2.45 meters. Also among them are the brothers Erick and Douglas Hernández, who have dedicated their lives to mastering the ball in various sports.
