Pelotero, eldest son of Lourdes Gourriel Delgado, played for the Sancti Spíritus team from the 2000-2001 season through the 2012-2013 season, as he was transferred to the Industriales team in the National Baseball Series the following season.
He plays in the outfield and his greatest achievement was obtaining the title of national runner-up during the XLI National Baseball Series (2001-2002).
In 2015 he played in the Canadian Independent Baseball League (Can-Am) where he finished as the batting leader with an average of 374, well above those of his closest pursuers, Jared McDonald and Joe Maloney, who tied for second place with 337.
The Cuban, who has become a dangerous hitter since he was given the opportunity to play outside of Cuba, was crowned in this his second year in Canadian baseball.
Of the three brothers, he is the only one who continues playing baseball on the island and does contract seasons in Canada.
