Yariel Humberto Rodríguez Yordy

Yariel Humberto Rodríguez Yordy (Camagüey, March 10, 1997) is a Cuban professional baseball pitcher for the Toronto Blue Jays of Major League Baseball. He is known for a fastball that reaches 100 miles per hour and a devastating slider.

He started his career with the Ganaderos de Camagüey in Cuba's National Series before signing with Japan's Chunichi Dragons in 2020. In 2022 he was named Central League Most Valuable Setup Pitcher with a 1.15 ERA. He represented Cuba at the 2023 World Baseball Classic, starting the opening game against the Netherlands and striking out six in four innings.

After leaving Japan in pursuit of an MLB deal, he signed a five-year, $32 million contract with the Toronto Blue Jays on February 9, 2024, making his major league debut on April 13, 2024.
