Rigo
Humorist, outstanding theater actor and audiovisual media performer in Cuba.
Rigoberto Ferrera is a graduate of the Acting specialty from the School of Performing Arts at the Instituto Superior de Arte.
Through satire, the jesting that characterizes Cubans, and the support of other technical resources – music, singing, video beam and large screen – the well-known humorist makes people reflect on issues so deeply rooted in the population as: how walking under a ladder breaks a person's plans, how harmful it is to cross paths with a black cat, the protection of jet stone against the evil eye, and many others that have been passed down from generation to generation by parents and grandparents.
Rigoberto Ferrera adds "salt and pepper" to that act of artist-public communication and now establishes that empathy of great acceptance, which is not only evident in the work "Cuando Rigo suena," as the same occurs with his shows "Échale la culpa a Rigo," "Sabor bohemio," and "Rigoberto.com."
"Échale la culpa a Rigo" is the title of the one-man show performed and directed by popular actor Rigoberto Ferrera. The show recreates autobiographical passages through songs, audiovisuals, and monologues.
He has also served as host of the television program "Lucas."
The actor has made cultural exchange trips to other countries and has received numerous recognitions for his interpretive work. The actor, on the occasion of his presentation as a member of the cultural brigade that would travel to Haiti following the devastating earthquake of 2010 with the aim of bringing his art to that suffering country, stated:
