Taekwondoka in the 87 Kg category, Glory of Cuban sports and two-time world champion.
In January 2011 he participated as a member of the Cuba team in a friendly match with British taekwondocas in Havana. There he fell to Aaron Cook 16 - 13.
During the National Taekwondo Championship of Cuba, held in May 2012, before the London Olympic Games, he gave a big surprise by defeating the favorite and Cuba's representative to the summer games in the + 80 Kg final, Robelis Despaigne.
In April 2013 he won the I Open Taekwondo of Havana - a preparation tournament with a view to the World Championship in Puebla in July of that same year - when he was awarded victory in the final by his rival Robelis Despaigne's no-show. A month later he again demonstrated his potential by winning the National Championship, held in the Guernica Hall in the city of Cienfuegos.
The great result of his career came during the XXI World Taekwondo Championship held in Puebla, Mexico, in the month of July. There he won one of the two gold medals of the Cuban delegation by winning in the final against Chinese Zhao Yong Ma, whom he defeated with a score of 4-2.
He obtained a gold medal at the Taekwondo Open held in Mexico in April 2019; a result he would repeat a few days later at the Open de La Loma, also in Aztec land. A month later he would confirm his great form by winning the World Championship held in Manchester, United Kingdom.
