In 1982 he began his studies at the Instituto Superior de Arte de la Habana in the Acting specialty in the School of Performing Arts.

He graduated with honors in Acting from the Instituto Superior de Arte de la Habana in 1987.

In February of that same year he founded the Humorous Theater group SALA-MANCA, one of the paradigmatic collectives within the so-called Movement of Young Cuban Humorists, which he directed until 1996.

He has been a professor of acting for singing students at the Instituto Superior de Arte de la Habana, the Rodrigo Prats Lyric Theater, and the National Choir of Cuba.

He has also taught summer courses and workshops at the same Institute and at the National School of Theater Instructors.

He has played important roles in the dramatic and humorous genres in theater, film and television.

His broad histrionic range, combined with his rigorous sense of creation, have made him deserving of the respect and admiration of the Cuban public and specialized critics.

Founder and director of the Center for the Promotion of Humor of Cuba, from its creation until 2002. He has performed on important stages in the country and in Germany, France, Venezuela, Chile, Brazil, Spain, Canada and Mexico.
