Professor, poet and Cuban narrator. Several generations of Cubans have been educated with "Cuentos de Guane" and "Román Elé", essential works of literature created for the children of the Island, by an author who has never wanted to succumb to the temptations of the capital and move away from "her snail," as she has named her home in Pinar del Río. National Literature Prize 2011.
Considered one of the most relevant Cuban writers for children and young people, she is the author of a body of work, in prose and verse, of high aesthetic and ideological values and deep Cuban roots, which exalts feelings, recreates nature and rescues the traditions of the nation.
Graduated as a Normalista Teacher, she has worked in secondary education, as well as in the Music and Art Schools of her native province.
Nersys Felipe debuted as a radio announcer on the local station (Radio Guamá) in the 1960s of the past century and was part of the founding group of the station's drama department, where she remained for more than four decades as a scriptwriter and narrator.
She worked at the provincial station Radio Guamá as an author of children's programs, producer and dramatic actress. She entered the Provincial Literary Workshop and the Hermanos Saíz Brigade where she began to channel all her talent and creative energy.
Nersys debuted as an announcer in the Saturday cultural magazine of the former CMAB station and later moved to the children's program La Escuela del Aire. Her extensive service record also includes being part of the founding group of the drama department of Radio Guamá station in 1968, where she "embodied" multiple characters for all types of audiences, many of which are still remembered by listeners.
She also worked in Teatro Guiñol, the Polyphonic Choir and the Radio Drama Group in Pinar del Río. Her texts, set to music in songs for children, have been awarded in the Planeta Azul Children's Music Contest.
For her work as an actress and writer of radio scripts, she has also received numerous awards in various editions of the Provincial and National Festivals of Cuban Radio and in the Caracol Prize of the Union of Cuban Writers and Artists (UNEAC).
As a jury member, she has participated in the literary prizes Casa de las Américas, La Edad de Oro, Ismaelillo, La Rosa Blanca and Hermanos Loynaz; as well as in the music contests Planeta Azul and Pedro Junco. She has traveled to Poland, France, Costa Rica, Venezuela and the former Soviet Union. She has been a member of UNEAC since 1978.

The Cuban Institute of the Book paid tribute to the writer in the space El autor y su obra, held in May, 2004.
She receives the Magistral Prize, La Rosa Blanca, granted in June, 2004.
At the Amadeo Roldán theater she was honored as an Artist of Merit of Cuban Radio, in July, 2004.
