Luis Ulacia Álvarez

Baseball Sports Glory. He participated in four World Championships, four Intercontinental Cups, three Olympic Games, four Pan American Sports Games and two Central American and Caribbean Games. He is surrounded by a collective of experienced coaches, where the majority have played several national series, and focuses on achieving a team with discipline on and off the field, united and combative, where trust prevails between management and the athlete and each one sees the responsibility they have.

From an early age he lived in the city of Camagüey. He has a height of 5.8 feet and a weight of 161 pounds, which is equivalent to 73 kg.

He never stood out for hitting long home runs, but his touch and speed led him to excel in the leadoff position in the Camagüey lineup and in the national team.

A very versatile player, he performed very well in the outfield and in the Barcelona 1992 Olympics he played well in right field. He always liked to wear number 1 on his uniform.

In the XXXIV Baseball World Championship he finished as the leading batter and was selected as the most valuable player.

Director of the Camagüey Team
He dreamed one day of being a director and he achieved it in the XLVIII National Series, a responsibility that he considers very serious since it is a new stage to lead a team of ball players.
