Luis Bayard Bacaró

Flutist and Concertist. He is a flute professor at the Instituto Superior de Arte.

Born in Santiago de Cuba. He performs as a soloist with chamber groups and with the National and Camagüey Symphony Orchestras. He premieres works by Cuban and foreign composers. Flute professor at the Instituto Superior de Arte.

He studied the elementary level of music at the conservatories Alejandro García Caturla and Amadeo Roldán; the intermediate level at the Escuela Nacional de Arte with professor Emigdio Mayo, and the advanced level at the Franz Liszt Conservatory in Weimar, GDR.

International competitions
He has participated in international competitions, such as:
The Interforum, held at the University City of Keszthely, in Hungary, with works by Jorge Federico Händel and Francis Poulenc.
In the GDR he performed with the Wind Quintet of the Weimar Symphony Orchestra, in the Goethe House-Museum, in the Händel House-Museum, in the Gotha Palace, the National Theater of Weimar, and with the Jena Symphony Orchestra until his graduation.

In Cuba he has performed as a soloist and with the National Symphony Orchestra.

His work as a soloist stands out for the promotion of contemporary music.

In recent times he has worked in Mexico as a professor and concertist. He is part of the Cuban music group Son México Cuba.
