Caballo de Hierro
Cuban baseball player, right-handed pitcher with good control who, with intelligence and composure, mixes his pitches to deceive opposing batters.
He was born in Bayamo. He has been inspired by the great idols and glories of Cuban sports such as: Braudilio Vinent, Rolando and Gonzalo Castillo, Silvino Licea. He stands 1.90 m tall and weighs around 85 kg.
From an early age he showed inclination toward sports and was well guided by coaches. His sidearm or three-quarter deliveries are deadly for batters and especially for right-handers.
He participated in several national, provincial, and youth series, standing out for his hermetic pitching.
His great virtue is his placement for the pitch and his courage to face the strong batters of Cuban baseball and other countries.
He had international participation with youth teams and in tryouts for the youth national team. He has been part of the pre-selection and national team for Cuban baseball on more than one occasion. He always has discipline, sportsmanship, and a desire to play baseball in his favor.
With his Granma team he has achieved good results in the national baseball series, winning the national championship for 2 consecutive years or series.
He signed with the Québec Capitales of the Can-Am League on May 20, 2017, obtaining good results. He has managed to recover from injuries.
Lázaro Emilio Blanco displays one of the best averages in Cuban pitching and is considered by experts as the best pitcher in Cuban baseball (2019).
He has served as reinforcement for Ciego de Ávila in the final stage of series 58 and for many fans of the Avilean team, his performance was crucial.
In the last national series in the first stage with Granma he had a record of 4-4 and an ERA of 2.84.
The Granma native has pitched in the World Baseball Classic, Caribbean Series, Central American and Caribbean Games, and Pan American Games.
