Julio Antonio Sánchez González

Julio Camejo

Known as Julio Camejo, he is a telenovela actor born in Cuba, residing in Mexico.

He was born in the City of La Habana, and has lived in Mexico since early childhood. Son of Antonio Sánchez and Gladys González, emblems of Cuban culture.

Dance
He studied at the National School of Art and the Superior School of Art.
He was a modern and classical dancer, acrobat, musician, among other things.

In Mexico he joined the musical comedy Fama. Some time later he met Thalía and was invited to participate as her principal dancer. Olga Tañón and Celia Cruz also figure in Julio's extensive artistic career. But an accident to his heel incapacitated him from continuing his career, forcing him to change paths.

He studied at the Centro de Educación Artística (CEA) of Televisa. His experience exceeds standards, as he won the National Prize for the Arts for Best Performance for the theatrical production Solo y desnudo, which has been presented in Mexico, Colombia, and other countries. Among his great teachers are Patricia Reyes Spíndola in acting, Claudio Lenk, Lauro Alvarado in voice, and Nora Manik in body expression.

With Pedro Damián he participated in Primer amor, a mil x hora. Later came other telenovelas such as: Aventuras en el tiempo, ¡Vivan los niños!, De pocas, pocas pulgas, and Clase 406. Another one of his talents is singing, which also comes easily to him.

In the year 2000 he ventured into this field with the musical group R-Boots, as an opening act for Los Tigres del Norte concerts. In 2003 he begins recording for the telenovela Amar otra vez, under the production of Lucero Suárez, this melodrama premiered in January 2004 in the United States and in May of the same year in Mexico.

He has also made special appearances in the program Mujer, casos de la vida real. Shortly after, in March 2004, he entered alongside 14 young people in the Big Brother VIP house.

In October 2004 he was part of the telenovela Rebelde, a production by Pedro Damián. The following year Contra viento y marea would be his next telenovela in which he played the villainous Saúl Trejo (a) "Veneno", a melodrama by the great Nicandro Díaz in which he shared roles with Marlene Favela and Sebastián Rulli. Other of his participations in subsequent telenovelas would be: Amar sin límites, Destilando amor, and Tormenta en el paraíso.

He obtained the Yuri Manik award for the work Tragedia de un clown.

He is the creator of the Dueto Mix concept, which was promoted by Javier Vidal, director of Intermódel. After that his career had even greater success, as he did theater alongside Gustavo Rojo and Lilia Michel. In the United States he participated in the film Dark soul 101.

Music
Among his talents, singing is also something that comes easily to him. In the year 2000 he ventured into this field with the musical group R-Boots, as an opening act for Los Tigres del Norte concerts, with whom he recorded the song "Mr. Puntillas", a work by the late composer Celio Gonzalez.

In 2010 he performed the songs Mi niña bonita and Malo for the Soundtrack of the telenovela Niña de mi corazón.
