Caleb is a renowned Cuban actor. He has distinguished himself in the theatrical world, and also has a career as an actor in Cuban film and television. After seven years living in Bogotá, Colombia, a country where he continued his career making telenovelas and television series, he returned to Cuba, where he has renewed his presence in the theatrical, cinematographic, and television scene.
He studied at a painting school in Havana, preparing to enter the National School of Art, but ultimately decided to pursue acting.
After graduating as an actor, he was called to be part of the cast of "Descamisados," in the space of Las Aventuras, on Cuban television. His character earned him popularity and recognition from the public and specialized media.
As a child, Caleb Casas's face became familiar in Cuban television series such as El Cucumí se despierta los domingos or adventures like Memorias de un abuelo, inspired by the testimony Descamisados, by Enrique Acevedo. People still remember him greatly as Darío, the youthful character who escaped to the Sierra Maestra to fight against Fulgencio Batista.
"My beginnings were in a children's series 32 years ago. In one of those massive castings that were announced on television, my mother took my hand and took me, because she understood that at that age I had the conditions for it. I auditioned, there were about 2,000 children with their parents, several selections were made, until only two main characters remained. One of them was me. After that, something very conscious about playing began, as something intuitive that I had, and they kept calling me and calling me until today. Later, what was only intuitive became more serious. I began to study it, first at the ENA, then at the ISA. But I remember that it was through playing at my beginnings."
Later, Caleb Casas became part of a generation formed by master Carlos Celdrán and his Argos Teatro, a company with which he offered his great theatrical success twelve years ago: Chamaco, by playwright Abel González Melo.
From then on, and for several years, he worked between Mexico, Argentina, and Colombia. In the latter country, he achieved important contracts for series and television telenovelas mainly with the entertainment company Caracol.
He traveled to Colombia, where he dedicated himself to experimenting in the field of "series," a concept with good international demand and which has gained much strength. He participated in "Primera Dama," a telenovela that was a tremendous success first in Chile, and Colombia later bought the rights to make it in their country.
In 2014 he returned to Cuba. "I had been working in Colombia since 2006 and returned to Cuba in 2012 to work on the film La emboscada, by Alejandro Gil. Then I went back to Colombia again, but a kind of crisis broke out: prices dropped and people had no work. And if those people there couldn't find where to work, imagine one as a foreigner. Besides, I had met Susana Pous, my current wife, and she was also a reason to return in 2014."
He is part of the cast of a Cuban film written by Roberto Daranas, directed by Alejandro Gil. The film is called "La emboscada," and tells the story of four men who are ambushed in the war in Africa, where they will face extreme situations, these four characters are harassed, they cannot escape from that hole suffering from hunger and thirst, it is like a great magnifying glass on them, with some flashbacks of the personal lives of these men.
He shares the cast with Patricio Wood, Tomás Cao, Armando Gómez, Néstor Jiménez, Alejandro Cuervo, Arianna Núñez, among others. The film had its premiere in Cuba in April 2015, at the Charles Chaplin cinema in the capital.
Later he has been seen fundamentally at Argos Teatro. "Ten Million is my return to Argos Teatro, although I never stopped being part of the company, but my commitments outside the country prevented me from working on some new theater production. Ten Million has been more than a process, a journey, because understanding it as a vital part of Carlos meant facing a work with a strong level of sensitivity. It was very special.
"Ten Million and the character of Father mark for me a ceiling, a high level at this moment in my career. No previous work has had the depth, solidity, and maturity that this one has had. At this age I can say yes, I am closing an important cycle as an actor."
He has not returned to doing sufficient film or television in Cuba because productions are scarce or the directors have their cast already preconceived.
In 2020 Caleb took on the role of José Martí in the theatrical piece by Argos Teatro written by Celdrán "Hierro." In it Caleb Casas received the strongest applause, undoubtedly, a proven actor within and force of the stage, capable of assuming characters of diverse kinds, and doing so with precise nuance and passion that few currently put into their work, it is notable how difficult and risky it was to take on this role, the level of commitment and the strong psychological exercise that performances of this caliber impose.

Susana Pous, Spanish dancer, and Caleb Cabas are two artists who decided to come together in the race of life to make their own story. If there is something that characterizes both of them, it is that they both leave their essence on the stage without measuring the times because in art there is no schedule.
Both worked on the filming of the film Personal Belongings (2005) by Alejandro Brugués where, coincidentally, they propose marriage to each other.
