Juan Carlos López Betancourt

Juan Betancourt is a model and actor.

He lived in his hometown until he was 17 years old. At 18, he moved to Spain, where he obtained nationality in 2014. He is the grandson of Cuban writer Juan Manuel Betancourt.

His career began when a booker discovered him in Barcelona. Shortly after, and following a casting for Tom Ford's exclusive fashion show in London, he was called to be the face of the launch of Tom Ford's skincare and makeup line for men. Subsequently, he has worked with many fashion designers and international brands, such as Giorgio Armani, Jean-Paul Gaultier, Ralph Lauren, Tommy Hilfiger, Desigual, Greg Laurene, and Xti, alongside Irina Shayk.

He has posed for, among others, Forbes Magazine, Vanity Fair, Adon Magazine, Esquire, GQ, Glamour Spain, Vogue Spain, and Schön Magazine. He has also been photographed by Xevi Muntané, Gorka Postigo, Sergi Pons, Edu García, and Dennis Weber, among others. In 2015, he was the face on the cover of Men's Health's March issue, and in 2017 for the October cover.

In 2016, he filmed the movie Las leyes de la termodinámica produced by Mateo Gil, alongside Berta Vázquez, Vito Sanz, Chino Darín, and Vicky Luengo, which premiered in 2018. Subsequently, he participated in the short film Desalia, la película, directed by Ernesto Sevilla, and in the promotional video My Summerland for Women'secret, alongside Amaia Salamanca.

In 2017, he was one of the contestants in the second edition of the culinary competition program MasterChef Celebrity, where he coincided with celebrities of the caliber of Silvia Abril, Edu Soto, Bibiana Fernández, and José Corbacho; he was the sixth contestant eliminated.

In April 2022, he signed on as a participant and won first place in the competition El desafío, presented by Roberto Leal, and shared the competition with celebrities such as Jesulín de Ubrique, Raquel Sánchez Silva, Omar Montes, and Norma Duval.

Months later, his incorporation into the second season of the original series from Atresmedia with Netflix's participation, Toy Boy, was announced.
