Jorge Jesús Gómez Barranco

Jorge Gómez, a Cuban musician, director of the Moncada Group. Elected Deputy to the National Assembly of People's Power on April 8, 2018 in the Constitutive Session of the IX Legislature.

His uncle, Raúl Gómez García, marked his life since he was a child.

The main works of Jorge Gómez —with the Moncada group— have their genesis in the perennial tribute he renders to all those who have died/ to cast out the evil from the historic temple/ for the heroic gesture of Maceo/ for the sweet memory of Martí; just as Raúl decreed in the poem Already We Are in Combat.

The Group
Melba Hernández, who served as president of the Committee of Solidarity with Vietnam, invited them to the inauguration of a town and after a dialogue about the name of the group, {{Sistema:Cita|"...she took the podium and spoke to the townspeople. At the end, she said to them: Now the Moncada Group from the University of Havana will perform for you. Thus the name was officialized| Jorge Gómez.
