He initially thought he would stay only six months in the country.

The tempting invitation came from Jorge Alí Triana, whom Jorge Cao considers the first television director of Colombia. The definitive hook was a leading role in the telenovela Holy Sin.

Triana did not have to insist much, the idea was attractive in itself, and besides from the very first moment there was chemistry between them of respect and admiration for the work that Jorge demonstrated as an actor and director at the Film and Television School of San Antonio de Los Baños (Cuba).

The six months stretched to 19 years. The Cuban attributes his stay to the sense of warmth he perceived from the moment he arrived, but especially because he fell in love with a Colombian woman.

To this day his name is an institution in national television. But the recognition was not free. Rather, it is the product of continuously proving himself in theater, television, cinema, and even now in song because Cao has just released a record production called 'Boleros for an Actor', demonstrating the versatility and confidence sufficient to invade unfamiliar territory.

It could be said that he is the most Colombian Cuban, since he was even granted citizenship and claims to know the country better than many. This thanks to a pilgrimage he made through rural areas of Colombia to discover natural theatrical talents.
