Humberto Lázaro Miranda Ramírez

He was born in the Municipality 10 de octubre, Ciudad de La Habana, Cuba. He obtained a degree in Visual Arts Education starting in 1990 at the Faculty of Artistic Education of the Superior Pedagogical Institute Enrique José Varona.

Since January of 2009, he directed the graphic humor section of the National Union of Writers and Artists of Cuba, UNEAC.

Additionally, he worked at the newspaper Juventud Rebelde. He served as editorial cartoonist and director of the graphic humor supplement Dedeté.

He was married and father of three children.

Death

On August 4 of 2025, through a statement from the newspaper Juventud Rebelde, where he worked, the death of LAZ was reported, at the age of 64 years. No details about the causes were provided.

In the statement, the newspaper's editorial staff highly valued the contributions of LAZ, both in the newspaper and in other publications and institutions, defining him as:
