Cuban baseball player, selected in 2007 as the best Cuban athlete in team sports. In 2010 he was selected to join the Cuba team that participated in the Pre-World Championship and Pre-Pan American Baseball Championship in Puerto Rico.

Since 2002 he has been part of the Cuba Baseball Team, with which he has won the Intercontinental Cups of 2002 and 2006, the Pan American Games of 2003 and 2007, and the World Championships of 2003 and 2005.

He also was part of the winning squad at the Athens 2004 Olympic Games and the 2006 Central American and Caribbean Games, and was runner-up in the 2006 World Baseball Classic and the World Cup in Chinese Taipei in 2007, as well as runner-up in the Beijing 2008 Olympics.

Cepeda has been part of the notable parity in the recent history of confrontations between the Cuba and United States squads, where the Americans have prevailed against the Caribbean team in the last two world versions of 2007 and 2009. Cuba crushed the northerners in the semifinals at the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games and relegated them to second place in the 2010 University Youth World Championship.
