Frank received a Special Prize for his book on international cuisine. Making her debut at the Gourmand World Cookbook Awards gala, Cuban cuisine achieved two awards in a competition that brings together 57 countries and more than a thousand participants in the most prestigious event of culinary arts in the world.
The chef of the Club Santa Lucía hotel, in the province of Camaguey, Frank Rodríguez Pino, took home the special jury award for International Cuisine.
Upon taking the stage at Folies Bergére, a former cabaret and now a center for musical entertainment, Rodríguez Pino highlighted that for Cuba the award is an enormous incentive to allow for the rescue of one of the Island's most important traditions.
