Tenor, First Soloist and General and Artistic Director of the Ernesto Lecuona Lyric Theater Company, Bachelor of Music in the Specialty of Singing, more than 40 years of Artistic Career and more than 30 years of teaching work.
Creator of the Study Plans for the Artistic Teaching Units of Medium Level Music in the Specialty of Singing, Founder of the First of them and its Director.
He began his professional artistic career in 1969 upon joining the cast of the Ernesto Lecuona Lyric Theater Company, where as First Soloist he has performed the leading roles in more than 35 titles of the genre including: the operas Tosca, Rigoletto, La boheme, Traviata, Bastian y Bastiana, Rita, the zarzuelas Cecilia Valdés, Amalia Batista, Maria la O, Maria Belen Chacon, El cafetal, Lola Cruz, Luisa Fernanda, Los claveles, La del manojo de rosas, La leyenda del beso, La del Soto del Parral, La Verbena de la Paloma, as well as musical revues, Anthologies of operas, zarzuelas and musical comedies etc.
In his concert repertoire he has more than 200 works by authors such as: Caccini, Monteverdi, Paisiello, Beethoven, Mozart, Schumann, Schubert, Leoncaballo, Verdi, Puccini, Donizetti, Bellini, Montalvage, Falla, Obradors, Guastavino, Ginastera, Lara, Greever, Lecuona, Prats, Roig, Grenet, Sánchez de Fuente, Casas Romero, to name a few.
He has performed on the best stages in Cuba and in countries in Europe, Asia and America: Spain, Portugal, France, Andorra, Belgium, Germany, Austria, USA, DPRK, Russia, Lithuania and Brazil
He has worked under the baton of distinguished orchestra conductors, among others: Rodrigo Prats, Gonzalo Roig, Adolfo Guzmán, Norman Milanes, Félix Guerrero, Enrique Pérez Mesa, Eduardo Díaz, Kim Tse Jung, (DPRK), Ricardo Lafuente, (Spain), José Ramón Lozada (Spain), Oliver Díaz (Spain)
He has participated in important International Events: Habaneras and Polyphony Competitions in Alicante, Spain, April Spring Festival in DPRK, where he obtained the Award for Best Male Performance, Ibero-American Zarzuela Festival, International Lyric Art Festivals, International Theater Festivals of Havana.
Judge in Important National and International Competitions: International Habaneras and Polyphony Competition in Torrevieja, Spain, Ibero-American Singing Competition, National Rodrigo Prats Singing Competitions, National Ernesto Lecuona In Memoriam Singing Competitions, Pedro Junco Music Competitions, Planeta Azul Music Competitions for Boys and Girls, etc.
He also has an important teaching career of 30 years as a professor within the artistic education system:
Professor at Federico Engels Vocational School 1978-1980
Professor at the Professional Development Center of the Provincial Culture Management 1980-2000.
Professor at the Higher Pedagogical Institute 1990-1992.
Professor and Director of the Medium Level Artistic Teaching Unit Ernesto Lecuona Lyric Theater Company. 2002-2010.
