Fabio Raimundo Torrado

Doctor of Law and Master's in Political Science. Tireless scholar and researcher, with several published books. Founder of the National Union of Jurists of Cuba (UNJC), member of the Cuban Society of Constitutional Law, associate full professor at the Ñico López Higher School of the Party and the Preparation and Advancement Center of the Ministry of Justice.

Full professor. He taught in several courses of the Master's in Political Science of the Faculty of Philosophy and History at the University of Havana.

He developed intense legislative activity as part of working groups responsible for drafting the Penal Code, the Electoral Law, the Law of National Defense, among others. He was a member of the drafting group of the 1992 Constitutional Reform.

He served on the National Board of Directors of the Society of Philosophical Research of Cuba, belonged to the Economic Society of Friends of the Country and its sections on "Economics and Sciences" and "Social Sciences".

Throughout his professional life he held important responsibilities such as prosecutor for the Revolutionary Armed Forces and second chief of the Military Prosecutor's Office.

Awards and recognitions

He has received several national decorations and distinctions. The National Union of Jurists of Cuba awarded him the Carlos Manuel de Céspedes National Prize for Law 2018 for his outstanding trajectory in teaching, research, and professional practice, as well as practical performance.
